CLIMATIC FLUCTUATIONS IN THE MIDDLE LATITUDES OF THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE ACCORDING TO THE STUDY OF CAMPANIAN PLANKTONIC FORAMINIFERA

To reconstruct the climatic fluctuations that occurred in middle latitudes of Northern Hemisphere Atlantic Ocean Campanian Age, systematic composition shells planktonic foraminifera was studied from core samples seven deep-water drilling holes. The identified foraminiferal assemblages are assigned to two types (boreal and intermediate) one subtype (warm boreal) thanatocenosis. On basis their spatial distribution, position zones for sections early, middle, beginning end late determined. Different were characterized by different water masses. Within area, during most age interval, developed: intermediate boreal. In Early Middle Campanian, boundary between them southern part region under consideration. At this border sharply shifted north. A short-term Late warming began. temperature dropped sharply. An type thanatocenosis has not been identified. Even southernmost warmboreal subzone prevailed. obtained reconstructions confirmed our own published data oxygen isotope analysis.
